The TIG Welding Filler Rods

TIG welding filler rods are for use in TIG welding. The technique is a manual one, and it's often used when there isn't enough purchase on the two metal pieces to hold them together with a different technique.

In order to fill in gaps from missing filler metal at joints or holes where arc or plasma is excluded, the TIG welding filler rods are introduced into the joint before it's welded. The rod can then be drawn out after it cools down, leaving a residue that looks similar to that of a cane sugar surface when viewed under careful examination.

There are different types of TIG welding filler rods available for use. The flux-coated rods can be used to fill in an area where the metal is porous. However, the flux will need to be cleaned off with a little bit of acetone or other solvents before the rod is introduced into the joint.

The flux-less welding rod is different because it doesn't have any type of coating on it. This one is used when there's no need to remove any residue because it cleans itself off after cooling down.

The single-aluminum tungsten electrode filler rods are made from tungsten wire that has been set into alumina clay which has then been fired at a lower temperature. This material is specifically designed for welding aluminum, and it can offer a great weld bead.

The tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding filler rods are made from pure tungsten that's been drawn into a wire. The rod is then put into an inert atmosphere so that the tungsten won't contaminate the weld area with oxides.

Different types of metals will require different types of filler metal to create a successful weld.
